Advents of unconventional<br \/>\ntechniques have made possible terahertz emitters and detectors with a size of a pinhead.<br \/>\nOn the other hand, achieving practical applications requires novel components to manipulate terahertz waves. However, most natural materials exhibit weak electromagnetic responses at terahertz frequencies.<br \/>\nFor this purpose, microstructures become necessary to construct exotic terahertz components.<br \/>\nThis seminar discusses some activities on terahertz microstructure research at the University of Adelaide. It covers a diverse range of components, including reflectarrays, modulators, polarization converters, absorbers, frequency selective surfaces, and dielectric resonators.
